Our Friend Linda
by iamfreenow injulie and i have both known linda for over 25 years, from when she first became a jw, so we decided to write this tribute to her.. we first met linda in january 1981, when she attended her first ever meeting at our kingdom hall.
she had been taking the magazines for a few months, since just after she finished university, and had started studying a few weeks before, but this was the first time she had plucked up the courage to attend a meeting.
julie was having many doubts herself by then, and once again linda was supportive, as was trev.

Thanks for that heartfelt and moving tribute, Iamfreenow.
I met Trevor last year at the Apostacurry and found him to be a kindhearted true gentleman. It was not possible for Linda to be there so I for one have missed out on meeting this truly amazing lady.
Your story of Linda and her friends has touched our hearts.
Kindness and love to everyone who knew Linda.

The last two England matches, against Australia and now France have really showed the English 'bulldog spirit'. They were never ever going to give up and have now beaten two teams who really should have beaten us.
Roll on the final!
We by rights should not win the final, especially if it is against South Africa as they have already beaten us 36-0. But with England playing as they are you never know, we may be the first country to retain the World Cup. Wouldn't that be cool?!
Next weekend it is the Rugby World Cup Final, and the last race in the Formula 1 calendar (my favourite sport) and we have arranged to go and stay round a friends house for the weekend.
I'm just hoping that they like sport too or I will be al depressed!
Can't have that as it will also be my birthday!
Come on ENGLAND, come on McLaren - Mercedes (Hamilton preferably)!

Have you ever refused a "Privilege"
by JH ini refused to give a bible study to some kid.
i figured that many tried and didn't succeed.. i also didn't feel ready for that, nor did i want to drag him to each meeting after that, since he had no family in the org.
the elders weren't happy with my decision.. bottom line, you can't say no, without any consequences..

When I was on the way out, one week an elder told me that I was in danger of losing my 'priveleges' as a MS but the following week another elder told me that I was being considered for eldership!
Obviously guided by holy spirit!

Favorite Stones song???
by bluesbreaker59 inok, because flipper brought up the beatles, i have to bring up the "anti- beatles".
i always preferred the rougher, raw edge of the stones, and the more guitar driven sound with a swaggering, swinging beat.. i'll go with tumbling dice, keith here was at the peak of his addictions and still came up with one of the coolest riffs.
anything from the micktaylor era is fabulous in my opinion, but sticky fingers and exile on main street are my favorite albums..

IMHO The Stones were / are the best rock and roll group ever. I saw them live in Sheffield and they were fantastic!
The great thing with the Stones is that every song is different but also instantly recognizable as a Stones song.
Favourite (sorry, favorite!)? Impossible to say but Angie to me is wonderful.
P.S. - I remember my mum warning me about the Rolling Stones, how they were proof that the system of things was near it's end and that I shouldn't listen to them. That was late 60's early 70's - no wonder I like them so much!!!!!!!!!

I seem to remember that the Aussies were saying how much they hate England and how easy they were going to beat us - well the master has tamed the slave!
The mother nation has spoken - and Australia has been humbled!
So much for all your sport loving!
